Homework Requirements to Achieving Certification (optional)

If you wish to  achieve Certification, you should follow the recommended three week schedule and submit your hands-on homework assignments within one month. This is easily attainable if you organize yourself to dedicate a certain amount of hours per week, keeping in mind that this is a 20 hour course.

The homework assignments consist of:

1) replicating the functional anatomy of the various muscle groups of the face on your practice doll by creating three (3) pictures/images using washable colored markers of different colors.  You can then pictures of your work with an Iphone or whatever device is most convenient. This homework assignments can be found in the chapter on Functional Anatomy of the Muscles of the face and has a download document to guide you. 

2) Replicate the lymphatic system of the face on your practice doll using washable colored markers of different colors by creating two (2) pictures/images and taking pictures that you can send to us.  This homework is also found in the Anatomy chapter and has a download document to guide you.

3) demonstration video - Instructions for this homework assignment can be found in the last chapter in the lessons "creating your demonstration video".  It will consist of you taking a short video of yourself conducting a pre-treatment consultation as taught in this course, a short treatment demonstrating a few of your chose techniques, and a post treatment finishing consultation.

All of the above assignments are also a requirement in the live in-person three day course.

Homework should be completed and submitted in the fourth week of the course.  The expectation that a student will follow the module/chapters schedule over three weeks, and produce their demo video in the fourth week is a basic requirement for achieving Certification.  This means you might want to plan in advance when you enroll, or if you enroll now and intend to start the course for Certification within the next few weeks, so email us at [email protected] to let us know of your start date, so that we can expect your homework approximately one month later.

Practitioners must also complete their payment for the course before being eligible for Certification, so if this is your goal, then please chose the full payment option upon enrollment rather than the partial payment plan.

Even after completing Certification, you will have access to the course material for one full calendar year, as is the policy for all of our online continuing education courses.

Enrollment, Awarding of Certificates, and Non-Refund Policy:

Enrollment in all ICEO courses are non- refundable. If unforseeable valid personal or medical reasons are provided (with written proof), a student may apply to enroll in the same course the next time it is offered.  An administration fee of $150 applies to all re-enrollments in addition to any outstanding applicable enrollment fees.  Any student who falls behind in the online course without submitting any or an adequate number of  homework submissions must apply to be enrolled in a future dated course, according to the discretion of our Educational Director and the Instructor for this course, Maureen N. Maher.  

Extensions are not granted to students who have forfeited a majority of the course or have not submitted homework assignments.  Extensions to submit homework assignments are granted only for brief delays and will exceed no more than one month past the final due date for all homework assignments.  The awarding of Certificates of Completion depends upon the successful submission of homework assignments according to due dates, and must clearly demonstrate the understanding and ability to apply knowledge gained in this course and is according to the discretion of the Instructor.  Professional ethical conduct is expected of all students who enroll in ICEO courses.

ICEO reserves the right to refuse to enroll a Practitioner who is not sufficiently qualified to complete this course or is not a fully trained to complete this course. If you are a Therapist who is not trained in Osteopathy, please contact the Educational Director at [email protected] with copies of your credentials explaining why you wish to enroll in this course.  Conditional exceptions are sometimes granted.

Once a student enrolls and accesses the course material, no refunds will be given under any circumstances.  This is a common policy with many online professional development providers.
