Foundations of Visceral Osteopathy
This course is Part 1 and a pre-requisite for our Visceral Series
If you wish to learn or review the theoretical foundations of
Visceral Osteopathy, this short course is for you!
Whether you plan to learn how to treat the upper GI tract including the esophagus stomach and diaphragm, or digestive organs of the liver and gallbladder, or plan to learn to treat the lower GI tract including the small intestine and colon, the foundational principles that govern Visceral Osteopathy are necessary for you to learn before you can delve into the specifics of the different digestive regions.
What is Visceral Manual Therapy?
Visceral Manual Therapy, also known as Visceral Osteopathy, is an approach to treating digestive difficulties using manual therapeutic techniques. These techniques are effective when used within the context and understanding of certain principles that govern the functioning of the human viscera, or human organs. The techniques themselves are gentle, yet precise, and fit well into a Massage Therapy Treatment.
In this Foundations course, you will learn the principles that govern the functioning of the organs of your client, in preparation for each subsequent course within this series, where you will learn approaches and techniques to successfully treat every aspect of the human digestive tract.
This course provides you with a thorough understanding of the foundational principles that govern visceral manual therapy. It is a pre-requisite and prepares you for subsequent courses in this series where you will learn how to treat the Aesophagus, Diaphragm, Stomach, and more.
You can also take this short course alone if you are simply interested in or are curious about the principles of visceral manual therapy to help you decide whether you want to go further in your studies to learning actual hands-on approaches and techniques.
